Our Pastoral Approach

While many Christian denominations and organizations continue to refer their members who experience same-sex attraction and gender dysphoria to ex-gay ministries, as well as intersex people being referred to unwanted surgery procedures, we do not take such positions. But we also do not endorse or promote LGBT+ ideologies. What we promote is an approach to eros in line with the Theology of the Body which we call the Third Way:

Leading others to Christ means teaching them “how to direct eros towards that which truly satisfies: the ‘nuptial union’ of Christ and the Church. In short, these heavenly nuptials are what we long for (desire)they’re what we’re created for (design); and they’re what we’re headed for (destiny). If Christianity is not framed as such – as God’s passionate desire for union with us and our quest for the true satisfaction of eros in union with him – it eventually becomes incomprehensible and even meaningless. More than that, it can even morph into something destructive to our true humanity” (Christopher West, Fill These Hearts, p. 102)

From JPII

“We need to bring the Gospel of life to the heart of every man and woman and to make it penetrate every part of society. This involves above all proclaiming the core of this Gospel... It is the proclamation that Jesus has a unique relationship with every person, which enables us to see in every human face the face of Christ. It is the call for a ‘sincere gift of self’ as the fullest way to realize our personal freedom. [As a consequence] the meaning of life is found in giving and receiving love, and in this light human sexuality and procreation reach their true and full significance” (John Paul II)
